That sounds to me like at least some class of important customer wants IA64 NOW in a big machine, and that means production work - a 4 way would be fine for development. " Thanks for the analysis. I sure hope you're right. The out-sourcing to Unisys for 16 and 32-way SMP servers - announced a few weeks ago - caught me by surprise. Maybe Compaq has their hands full trying to get the Alpha to work and has "let slip" their Intel server development. Paul
