Wave Systems To Sell 3.6 Million Class A Shares In $122 Million Private Placement

LEE, Mass. -(Dow Jones)- Wave Systems Corp. (WAVX) plans to sell 3.6 million Class A common shares for $34 each in a $122 million private placement.

Wave Systems recently traded on the Nasdaq National Market at 43 1/2, down 1, or 2.2%, on composite volume of 1 million shares. Average daily volume is 1.1 million shares.

In a press release Thursday, the technology and services company said the proceeds will help the company start a mass deployment of technology, expand its content relationships, create new data content servies and continue integrating its open platform with new partners.

Pacific Growth Equities Inc. was the sole placement agent for the private placement, which is expected to close next week.
