Digital Microwave's Altium(TM) Broadband Radio Receives
InternetWeek Award

SAN JOSE, Calif., March 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital Microwave
Corporation (Nasdaq: DMIC - news) today announced that the
company's innovative Altium(TM) broadband radio received an
``InternetWeek Approved' award based on an independent
product evaluation. The product review summarizing results of
the January 2000 evaluation of the radio's installation,
setup and use is published in the February 28, 2000 issue of
InternetWeek. An online version of the article can be viewed
at internetwk.com .

The review, written by Wayne Rash, Jr. and Elizabeth Safran,
highlights the Altium's ease of installation and performance
that is ``remarkably like an equivalent length of fiber optic
cable.' Further, ``The equipment ran immediately, data
flowed across the link on the first try, and we completed the
tests without a glitch related to the microwave link,' the
reviewers said.

Digital Microwave Corporation's Altium radio, which is
designed for broadband applications up to 155 Mbps and which
operates in radio frequency ranges from 6 to 38 GHz, is sold
to the company's network service provider customers around
the world. ``We are gratified that InternetWeek has
recognized the Altium as one of the best wireless
transmission solutions they have seen,' said Paul Kennard,
Digital Microwave's vice president of corporate marketing.
``We are committed to designing, manufacturing and delivering
high-quality, reliable products, and are pleased that the
Altium has performed so well in this important test.'

InternetWeek tested the Altium at the Advanced Network
Computing Laboratory at the University of Hawaii, where one
radio antenna was placed on a building at the university and
another was mounted on a mountaintop about two miles away at
an elevation approximately 700 feet higher. ``Setup and
aiming of the remote unit took only a few minutes, and
despite heavy rain, there was no measurable impact on the
microwave signal quality,' the review states.
