I have not had any problems of note with Waterhouse in the past six months. I have not been unable to log on to webBroker during market hours in the last six months. I have never had any serious problems with Waterhouse in my 3 year history there.

I log on and place orders on webBroker every day. I average about 1-2 orders per day. My confirmations are within 30 seconds. I often can see the buy or sell stock order execute on my Datek streamer, and I press order status on webBroker, and there it is, filled as I requested. I mostly deal with NYSE and regular Nasdaq stocks, and rarely with bulletin board stocks. I almost always use a limit order. I have yet to be screwed in the execution of any limit order. The fills are good, sometimes better than I asked for. I use a 33.6k baud modem, with a small local internet service provider. The two times I have had occasion to call Waterhouse in the last few months, I waited 5-10 minutes on hold.

My suspicion is that many of the problems people have with webBroker is due to internet congestion problems on their local servers. Otherwise, I think I would experience at least some of the difficulties noted on this board.

Edit: I almost never use market orders.
