Chris, Thanks for the reply. I'm glad you're excited about the new venture. But I am concerned about how much Lucent is keeping for itself for the enterprise. Lucent is keeping VPN and most web based initiatives for the enterprise. My concern is also when you are selling VOIP and you lack a data piece you can't go to your data division but to another vendor. This requires the new company to recreate a NetCare type division to provide solutions in a multi-vendor environment.

Any comment on the new CEO, Peterson, being the one who screwed up the communication between the company and the anlayst community and worsened the stock price correction? Peterson left one analyst hanging, the same day that the earnings warning was issued this analyst upgraded LU to a buy. Pretty nasty if you ask me. And does anyone else think that Peterson looks like Bill Bradley?

It seems like Lucent is getting rid of problems and problem people. This seems a little unfair since it was failure at the top that caused the problem in the first place.

Another question is where was the board on this? In my view all these guys should have been fired.

Bill O'Shea is one reason for the problems because he accepted unrealistic growth goals for the Enterprise segment and showed no backbone with the other senior managers when they offered him the company Kool-Aid.
