You are right and that is the point. The real launch is in June. Intel has just given it's OEMs either the permission or the urging to release their pre-production samples as consumer retail systems in an effort to grab 1GHz PR. If Intel cared one <edit>even one little bit<edit> (sorry I calmed down) for truly raising the MHz bar they would have done so incrementally. They have proven that all they care about is the PR. This is a publicity stunt!!!
