Joe,

I wonder how Sledgehammer will compete against Willamette?

Jerry compared tomorrows Sledgehammer against today's Intel offerings, he should have compared it against a 1.5GHz Willamette, as that will be the competition at that time Sledgehammer "might" see daylight.

Pretty hard choice, buy a 64bit chip (sledgehammer) running in emulation mode or just get a really fast Willamette for less money.

If you think Sledgehammer will be cheaper than Willamette, I'm wondering why build it at all?

re: A 64 bit Windows OS is just an icing on the cake.

Serious denial, when was the last time you saw emulation work as well as native mode?

Starting to sound just like the Alpha crowd, emulation at higher clock - blah blah blah. Look where Alpha is today on the Microsoft RADAR.
