Thu 2 Mar 2000 News Release
Mr. Chan Buckland reports
The company paid out a special dividend on March 1 of $1 per share
(totalling $4,522,398) to shareholders of record as at close of business on
Feb. 18, 2000. Postdividend, the unaudited evaluation of Welcome's holdings
on Feb. 29 shows a gross value of $36.4-million, or $8.04 per share, for
the 4.52 million shares outstanding, which includes $6.35-million cash and
the following positions in excess of $500,000:

Price/
Shareholdings Share

InfoNow Corp. 250,000 $15 (U.S.)

Telelink Comm. 3,000,000 $1.36

BrainTech Inc. 1,000,000 $2.50 (U.S.)
Automated
Recycling 1,280,000 $2.65

Pinetree
Capital 130,000 $19.35

Quotemedia.com 400,000 $2.50 (U.S.)

Datawest

Dejour Mines 1,200,000 $0.75

Int'l Wayside 1,100,000 $0.55
The proliferation of new high-tech start-up funds and change-of-business
junior resource companies has created fierce demand and competition for
good product, driving prices up to a point where, in most cases, the
risk/reward ratio has seriously increased. ALthough Welcome will continue
to seek out opportunities in this arena, much of its focus will be directed
to both trying to take advantage of the inevitable wide market swings due
to rapid changes in investor confidence, sentiment and demand, and to
financing of select junior companies in the beleaguered natural resource
sector.
