IMHO these are the only guys who would kill/buy ONT

akamai.com

AKAM has everything needed to dominate this
market should they ever manage to demonstrate
a half decent streaming media technology that
works well with browser based consumers. Set
top boxes is a whole nother story. ONT has
managed to demonstrate value to both markets
as well as console gaming systems. AKAM may
have learned from Bill Gates the art of sitting
back, and relaxing, while other pioneers like
ONT get started in this new market. Then by
the time Broadband Subscribers add up to some
serious numbers, AKAM could come in and clean
up. I'm firmly long ONT, but mindful that we
are investing in pioneering technology here.
Being first out the starting gate does not
always mean you'll win the race. With AKAM's
over inflated market cap, they should seriously
consider a stock swap deal to gobble up ONT, that
would give AKAM a foothold in the entertainment
sector, and a damn good CODEC. Whereas ONT
which is woefully behind in making alliances
in this industry, could not do better than to
find themselves catering to AKAM's expanding
customer base, and benefitting from AKAM's
superior caching infrustructure.
