I speculate we will see a Vcc increase to 1.7V or perhaps even 1.75V for these 1 GHz parts. Also, probably even lower threshold voltages with corresponding higher off currents to boost performance. Thus, the need for tight Vcc specs on Intel power supplies, (they do have a 10 yr gate ox reliability spec), special Intel mobo, and heatsinks. Seems like they are pulling out all the stops. Amazing what a little competition will do.
