[Lucent and CAP]

As long as we are speculating, I think Lucent is likely to offer both technologies (CAP and DMT) and let the market decide if one or the other is going to be the sole winner. I would be very surprised if there is a role for Amati in any DMT-based product, however. Lucent's advanced modulation lab has more experience with this technology (and arguably more patents with greater leverage) than anyone else I am aware of (that is where Cioffi worked before Stanford), they have the related DSP expertise, the mixed signal and VLSI design/manufacturing capability, the networking knowledge, the customer relationships, the necessary service/support infrastructure-I don't see what Amati brings to them which would result in a partnership with much value to AMTX (or to us).
