Alan, no, but the population has been growing for awhile at about the same rate. If you read the story I was responding to, the author claimed that a rise in new car sales for one month implied more demand for gas. A rising population would be about the same as for prior months (e.g. people getting driver licenses minus people dying), so that is a relative constant. IMO. And of course it doesn't matter. :-)
