Strathcona was on site when they made the 'overstated' comment. They
could have seen something onsite (sample preparation, etc.) that caused them to make the statement. I don't believe it had anything to
do with Freeport's results. If there was some sloppy work occurring
at Busang (let's say cores weren't being documented and tagged
correctly) then the assay data that Kilborn worked from wouldn't be
completely accurate.
Until recently Bre-X hadn't mentioned many dud holes in the SE zone -
something like this affects the reserve calculations. Check John Stoke's posts - I believe he suggested a revised reserve estimate due to the new data Bre-X released. Still over 70 mill. though.
What bugs me is one of Freeports twins was only 1.5m from one of Bre-X's honey holes. Hopefully Strath. can answer everything!
