I disagree with Bruce's percentages.

Actually, they were not mine. They appeared in The Bull Market Report Newsletter, an article at The Motley Fool and probably a few other places. I didn't bother to double check the figures.

Although this chart is up to last night's closing, it shows that the top 5 stocks and their percentages from January 1, 1990 to December 31, 1999 were in the ball park:

Keep in mind that Dell, AOL and CMGI were all near their highs at the end of December, 1999. Since then, they've dropped off. EMC is the only one I would question after looking at this chart and the percentages I posted from the Fool.
