I thought the delay was because wildfire production was moved to California and the last schedule slip meant that the first production run had to be moved from the east coast to the west coast, which made the launch dependent on shaking out the new manufacturing facility. Perhaps anyone who knows more about this could comment... but the statement about the technology being ready squares with what I have heard.

The previous statement about CPQ's large share of the high performance technical computing market was interesting. Given SGI / Cray's current problems, CPQ might move to dominate that space. And unlike SGI, CPQ has managed to make some money there... I wonder if the IDC share numbers include the SGI products, which are also Alpha based??
