OT Microsoft--Rick, I agree with Jean Guathier stated in his post. I would only say that MSFT might be one of the most undervalued technology stocks. I saw Dan Niles on CNBC talk about MSFT while he was discussing Dell and INTEL. He was very positive on MSFT and the launch of Windows2k. He also pointed out that when companies decide to spin off businesses, it is taken as a positive by the market. Good examples are Lucent and 3COM.
Since the anti-trust problem MSFT faces is with its consumer Windows(98) and not Windows2000, I am not that concerned. Window2K is not a monopoly. When and if it becomes one, you can bet MSFT will not run into the same problem. They have learned their lesson.

I think if MSFT really wanted their stock to go up, it is within their power to do it the same way LUCENT and 3COM. If there are any spinoffs, they would command high multiples.

I had been accumulating more Intel than MSFT. Intel will enjoy all the benefits of Windows2k without any government action hurting their stock price. However, now I am leaning a little more towards MSFT but will still be accumulating both. If they sort out their legal problems, the stock could really start moving up, taking the Dow and Naz along with it.

I would not bet against either Intel or MSFT.

I will limit my post this much as it is a JDSU thread. I did not talk about all their wireless deals.

BTW--good move to get out at 111.
