GHowe,
Very good points on the shortage of labor for most carriers to deploy last mile fixes. I suppose in the short term some of these companies have a great expansion opportunity: captive customers with low penetration. I still wonder though if the building maintanence guy is going to be able to effectively string fiber or if the riser boys will face the same installation challenges. The legacy systems I referred to concern the type of local loops the buildings connect to. In the ARCC Quest JV it could bu quite up to date provided your building is in markets with quest services. For other markets the links may be to more traditional carriers. Once the relationships are established and the contracts written, I suspect the inertia of real estate players will be stronger than any 30 day cancellable on sup par tech performance clause. Some of these riser co's are more CLEC wannabes than broadband distributors. Ask them where they think most of their revenues will come from voice or data? The answeres can be quite revealing.

Steve
