Ant, that would actually be an easy solution but since it is so easy I think something else is at issue. namely, the position has gone south but not far enough to trigger the 25% (or whatever the brokerage uses) minimum equity maintenance. But since brokerages usually require 50% equity to establish new positions, there isn't enough equity to close out, transfer and reestablish in identical size.

I think the guy is screwed. But if this is a tech long position we are talking about they ought to be out of the weeds in 4 days. -g-
