Danny, re: Rate adative ADSL

I'm not sure it is too crucial, just as long as you
get the granularity.

A drop from 6M to 1.5M is obviously too harsh.
I believe CAP RADSL (just what the world needs - another acronym !)
can do 300K steps - is that right ? - which would give you 20 levels
and I should think that this would be adequate for most applications.

But the thing that matters is this is related to *reach*, but consumer
coverage is proportional to area. (This is something that is easy to
draw but hard to write !). If at a given range, a system
delivers N% higher rate than alternative, then (1+N)^2 area gets the
benefits.

The other point is that how does rate adaptive extend?
For example, for very long lkoops, how far can you reach at reduced rates ?
Or for short loops most DMT systems can go >6 Mbps (eg 8 or even
10Mbps).

I think these will all be significant product
differentiators in the future

Yeah, I'll be in Florida. You'll find me in the bar ;)
