Barrick's additional 1.6 million ounces is old news to those following the stock - so the market has it factored in. CBs selling adds to the amount of traded gold - it doesn't add to the amount of gold in the world - but it is the same as production - it is sold in the market. Yet governments try to tinker with the supply of paper all the time.
