Ted,

Dang...I hate rumors. Its Barrett who is signing the special edition pc's, not Otellini, and they have M.Stewart picking out colors for the monitors. Stewart's company will directly sell them on the web.

You're right about the cumine wafer/plaque; however you have a choice with the key chain....either the defective i840 mbs or a 800 cumine chip....as you know the yields at all of Intel's fabs have been excellent, consequently these 800's are surplus and would have been dumped had Intel not come up with this innovative and creative venture with their new joint partner

You know, I just realized that all this "inside" information this thread produces is often wasted. I mean, sharing is caring, right? Too often we overlook the opportunity to share this info with the *ntel thread.

Nah, that would be lame to do "drive-bys" like that...spreading FUD and making lame assertions and <ggggg>s and stuff.....we've got better stuff to do with our time.....(not that I'm saying that Tony, Windsuck, Youseless, et al. are lame or anything).

BTW these special editions put AMD's EasyPC to shame!!

What ever happened to the EasyPC! Man, we do suck.

BTW, I heard each plaque will have the following notation, "Booting first is worst, but booting twice is nice!" I guess that's one of the features of the "special" mb.
