Me too. Back when it had its one and only run (late 60's?) I adored it. Catch a rerun every once in awhile and still like it. But the Prisoner just wanted to be left alone to live his life. I mean, he didn't wanna be Andrew Carnegie or something... Nor did he insist that he was Special; he was a former Agent who was Removed because he Knew Too Much. Okay, mighta been a metaphor, but if so, it wasn't all that successfully worked out.

I think Terry sees him as an Indivudualist. And he was in fact meant to be seen as such. But as an ordinary individualist, not an Uebermensch.
