As far as I know, only one knife was used. Also recall from the 20/20 show that only one wound was considered fatal. My guess is that that wound was the one to the throat. If true, it would mean that despite 17 stabs to the head Suzanne might still not have appeared to be dead. It could be the person kept stabbing simply because he wanted her dead and she wasn't. The throat wound might have been to make sure. I have a hard time thinking the throat wound came first. As for the angle, that would be a very important clue as it would tell us if she were standing up or lying down. No, that information has not been released.
