i was thinking that cree might make more money from cell phones than qcom. uncle, I like your thinking! Just how much does QCOM make on each cell phone anyway? For CREE, 16 LEDs at $.25 is $4 revenue times margin of say 50% is $2 profit per phone. Only caveat is that Cree's LEDs are not in every cell phone - OTOH not every cell phone is CDMA either. We need market penetration numbers and forecasts.
