Ace's thinks Thunderbird w/256K L2 cache will be ~125mm2. That is smaller than Katmai. But Sledgehammer will be bigger than Thunderbird if it is a completely new processor. When Sledgehammer comes out, AMD may have a process smaller than .18, according to Chuck.

Anyways, until Willy benchmarks come out we will have no idea if AMD's current processor at the time is competitive or not.
