Value America to Provide Customers with Instant Access to More than 100,000 Software
Titles Through Agreement with Digital River

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., Mar 3, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Value America, Inc.
(Nasdaq: VUSA), the online electronics and technology superstore, today announced
an agreement with Digital River, a global leader in e-commerce outsourcing, to
allow customers to purchase and download software applications instantly from
Value America (va.com).

Value America's Download Store will be available to customers by the end of the
first quarter and will include more than 100,000 software titles from companies
such as Symantec, Adaptec, Lotus, Qualcomm and The Learning Company. According
to Forrester Research, downloadable software sales will account for
approximately $1.3 billion of retail software revenue by 2004.

"Value America customers will now have instant access to an unprecedented
software application selection," said Paul Ewert, Executive Vice President,
Merchandising. "We are pleased to have Digital River as our partner. This
agreement builds on our PC selection and adds to our ongoing commitment to
deliver the best product selection and customer service."

In addition to instant access, customers will also have access to online
incentives and service: "Net-to-Zero" online software product rebates could
reduce the software application price by as much as 100 percent; and Digital
River's eBot means that customers can receive alerts notifying them of the
latest software upgrades.

"We are excited to be working with Value America to ensure that their customers
have a first-class online buying experience," said Jay Kerutis, executive vice
president of Digital River. "eBot is a unique online utility that will benefit
Value America's customers by automatically keeping track of the latest software
upgrades and by notifying customers of new, cool software products."
