<<Now you don't really believe that if we back down on maintaining our support for a peaceful resolution of the Taiwan/China issue, that the leadership in Bejing will stop there? >>

I was wondering more about China Town CA.!

<<I'd love to see Taiwan peacefully reunified, and I think most of them would as well. But it has to be done without bluster or intimidation, and with respect and acknowledgement of concerns by both parties.>>

In my contacts with many ethnic restuarants of late, this is not the story I'm hearing. I understand there are a great many trying to get out & go near anywhere else. There are many issues near the hearts of those involved, not the least of which is the Freedom of Religion. Then there are those which have ties(themselves or their families) to the current or past pro-freedom Government who fear "re-education".

Their eyes are speaking of a very real fear. We all know there are both rational & irrational fears, but these fears are Very real to them. If after this many years of the US "talking a good game", if we are not willing to protect them there, I hope we will open our borders & protect them here.
