Below is an interesting write-up in the March issue of Smart Money. In it's Realitycheck column they rate past statements by Investment Newsletters as true or false. You will get a kick out of these statements.

Monday Morning Comment, May 17, 1999

"Okay, so we believe in the Tooth Fairy, and we might even lean a bit toward Santa....But we draw the line in cement, not the sand, when we hear that this time, oh, yes, this time, OPEC will hold back production. We would be willing to wager a large sack of change that [oil] prices will come down."

March 2000

"The tooth Fairy and Santa Claus were better bets. OPEC continued to hold back production through the end of 1999, then voted in January to extend the cutbacks past their first anniversary, in March. Oil is still selling for about $28 a barrel."
