CJ, this is a perfect quote to start a discussion here!
Everybody, do you really think that if Compaq were privately held, its owner would even consider as a remote possibility an "even" swap of CPQ for PALM?

What would that owner be gaining? Some hope that PALM at some point would be worth more than CPQ at the same time in the future? Call me crazy, but to me there is no comparison between a "one-trick-pony" PALM and a global technology powerhouse like CPQ !

In my eyes this market is now paranoid / schizophrenic - there are two kinds of money, the "$classic" and the "e$".
As long as there are also two classes of investors, everything is all right... But I find it hard to imagine the same person holding at this time such different kinds of assets, namely "value" or "$classic" and "bubble" or "e$"!

What's wrong here with this picture?

Penny (classic) for everybody's thoughts here...

/Piotr
