I doubt if the diversification will go well as i have already stated.

As far as dividends etc. Stock buybacks are better and more tax efficent. Intel has done this. And promptly issued more stock as options to employees.

As long as the shell game goes on and stock goes up - its no problem.

BTW I don't know if you read Fleckenstins market wrap, He commemted that the SOX rose today by as much as its value in 95. While semi sales in dollar terms are almost stagnant since 95.

Now I know fleck is usually wrong but even if the real numbers are close then those are scary numbers.

But you have to grow both topline and bottom line long term IMHO. And Intels not doing it, yet the stock is up dramatically since 95. I think they have to diversify, I just wish they had picked some biggies.
