jill i don't know anybody named tom russell. everybody out west by the name of russell was hanged about (the neck until dead) a hundred years ago. (except for one guy) he's the guy that's always going after the grub. i do know the staked plain (el llano estacato) but not that song. only time i've heard the llano estacado sung about was by gary p. nunn in "what i like about texas" and he don't say much about it 'sept that he likes it. personally, i don't like it. there's no mountains, there's no ocean (though you'll probably say there is) and there ain't hardly no trees. it's too hot in the summer, there's no colors in the fall, it's too cold in the winter, it's too windy in the spring and there's nuthin' to do there. other than that it's pretty nice i guess. also... if you and lurqing dude like new mexico so much just come on out. there's no entry fee - no cover charge (unless you want to see indians wearing costumes with feathers) if you just want to get drunk with them in their street clothes, there's no charge. let's light this candle... vitrabohemia.com -polvie
