E, GW had no need to promise Robertson anything and I doubt he even considered it. What other choice does Robertson have? McCain? Not a chance. Buchanan? Why back a loser who can only help Gore in November? It is NOT reasonable to assume Bush promised Robertson anything, in fact it is UNREASONABLE to assume such.
