I bought a small amount of GBIX recently, only having just recently discovered it.
Usually I find stocks worthy of interest by doing fundamental research -- looking at past income statements, balance sheets, calculating p/e, etc.
Not this time. I visited the Globix facility in Santa Clara last week (my company just moved to Globix as our hosting facility). Very impressive.
We moved from the Level3 colo in SF. Level3, in my experience (which is limited, I must admit), is the worst. Lousy facilities, terrible service, nonexistent tech support.
We looked at several other places before choosing Globix. Exodus, for example. The word I hear on Exodus is that this is exactly what employees and customers are currently doing. Thus, it is aptly named.
Globix has a state-of-the-art facility. The best networking infrastructure I've ever seen and some of the best technical people I've ever met. Their NOC looks like something out of James Bond.
This is what has informed my investment decision. Since it's only a small position right now, I still have time to do some more old-fashioned research before committing more investment dollars.
