Angler, points well taken. The fund's top ten holdings are solid, growth-oriented companies, but it has indeed been underweighted in techs. I've been in FGRIX over 10 years, and its been a solid fund, but its generally been an underperformer for several years now, middle-of-the-pack ratings by Lipper at best. Like most of us, SAM is probably tired of seeing large funds such as FGRIX tread water as the bull rages on.
The question I guess we all ask ourselves is Do I continue to weight myself more heavily in tech and experience the strong upside potential, but with great volatility? Or do I stay with the traditional form of investing and hope for that good, low risk, 12% annual return and essentially miss out on these tremendous returns by FBIOX, FSPTX, and others.
