Windows 95 locked up (again), so I rebooted and ran ScanDisk. ScanDisk gave me a message that it found 10 meg worth of junk/lost clusters/whatever. I elected the "save" when it asked me what to do with this junk during the repair process. It tried to save, but came back with an error message that I have too many files in the C: root directory, so it can't save anymore. It suggested I run ScanDisk again after deleting some files in the root directory.

I went to the root directory, and found many "CHK" files like "File0001.chk," "File0002.chk," etc.

What are these *.chk files? Can I view the contents of the files? (wordpad and notepad just show jibberish.) Can I safely delete these files?

Thanks,

I2
