A "representation" the nature of which we are not allowed to know.

One that Robertson could not have divined from Bush's public position papers.

One made for the purpose of garnering Robertson's support.

Neocon, you are either being disingenuous or are revealing profound ignorance about politics, the nature of negotiation and deal-making, and human nature in the pursuit of power. I prefer to believe the latter. I am wondering if you have ever worked in a large organization, possibly a government agency, in an administrative capacity, one in which you had a good deal of authority or power to satisfy (or displease) a number of constituencies with different and sometimes opposite agendas. I am wondering if you have ever had to learn what a "deal" is. What "negotiations" are. What quid pro quo means in action. I am wondering if you live in an ivory tower.

Believe what it makes you feel good about voting for Bush to believe.

Secret representations, you prefer to call them. Secret because it would be dishonorable for him to tell the American people what "representations he made about his positions on various issues" to a representative of the lunatic fringe.

I prefer to vote feeling bad but honest rather than to vote in a state of willful, dangerous self-delusion.

"Vast difference" indeed. Whether it's naivete or disingenuousness, shame on you.
