Alex, I didn't mention "union shops" in that they are interested in each facility where it is mandatory that all workers join the union. My primary concern is with the national unions, themselves. One of the problems I have with organized labor, is that they, through political clout, have caused many states to become closed shop states where all facilities in the state represented by a union, must have only union workers. I am thankful that I lived my working life in a "Right to Work" state.
Huge industry is a major problem, I admit. When industry moved away from the small, self contained, entity, it lost its personal touch and has led to the many monopolies, or near monopolies, that are getting bigger every day. In the end result, we are faced with disregard for the individual worker, and disinterest in what the consumer may think. As long as they can take their bug bucks, buy enough advertising to dupe an uninformed public, and control the market, they couldn't care less about the quality of the product produced.
Huge labor unions, and huge multi-faceted corporations, are a curse on the world today. Another case of the individual being totally ignored. ~H~ |
