JC - re: . The phone company runs on Unix (not VMS) for a reason. Do you think that might have something to do with AT&T??? There's also a reason that critical manufacturing, electronic funds transfer, cellular telephone billing systems, stock market transaction engines, and a host of other verticals DON'T run on Unix... I think the telephone companies' use of Unix has a whole lot more to do with AT&T than with any special architectural features of Unix, though given the Unix heritage it's hard to separate the two in that particular industry. You need to take that bandana off more frequently... <GG>
