Do you know how low the percentage of computer resellers who are authorized to sell Compaq products is? I've been in the business for over 10 years and I consider the business very successful. I am not a Compaq dealer. Why? Several reasons: 1) Not enough requests for the products to be worth the bother of... 2) Going through all the red tape and certifications just to compete with the bigger fellows and perhaps lose a lot of bids (maybe gain some, who knows) 3) Compaq in all likelihood sells directly to the large stores that sell their products such as Best Buy types. Now, Ingram Micro and Tech Data would not be involved in such distribution to large stores. So, I don't think that this Compaq stuff will effect any of the distributors bottom line. Why is Tech Data only at $ 24? We have to not lose sight of the fact that the market has been on a down down down ride of late. So, it should be considered a good sign that TECD is at its present level compared to where it was yesterday! Judy siliconheights.com
