Info from March 1 & 2, 2000, ING Satellite conference:

Not much news in the presentations, so most of this is from discussions with attendees:

-G*/C*: Zahler keeps pounding the table about the SP model. He did this last month at CEUT, as well. Time will tell, but he certainly seems to exude confidence in this regard.

-Schwartz LOR presentation was a total waste of time--same old, same old.

--Wow, there is a LOT of skepticism about G*. Count me in--I think the market's there, but learned that Inmarsat has 175K customers and $400M in annual revenue after all its years in business. Granted, not the same type of product, but thought provoking, nonetheless.

--GMPCS really has their act together: gmpcs-us.com
They are doing one number for cell and sat on G* right now, and have some good marketing initiatives and opportunities coming up soon. They were the only dealer I noticed at the conference.

--GMPCS is not aware of QCOM moving to a 2G sat phone. I thought Zahler said they were at 1/25/00, CEUT conference.

--ERICY contingent seemed to speak only Swedish all week! :-)

Non-conference note: On its web site, G*USA has removed the links to dealers who don't have G* information at their sites.
