The Age of Aquarius is The Age of Deception...or so it seems. Thanks for the link...I'll have to read about that 'ping of death'...I remember when that happened to SI. It seems to me, [and I'm certainly no "authority" on the subject], that these infant DotComs and the entities that 'finance' them, have been well aware of the potential of DDoS methodologies since the beginning...and factored the reality of the "AchilliesHeel" aspect into their business plans...the proverbial "Both a Blessing and a Curse" inevitability. Much like a MLM organization, the earlybird DotComs with the biggest 'downlines', [in terms of advertising/internet presence/marketing] profit...the ones who come to the party late, may as well pass. I think we've nearly hit critical mass in this regard...but then again, look how many tiny banks exist- Once a business knows where it's vulnerable, it must learn to use that vulnerability to it's advantage... The world of 'eCommerce' has long since done so... "I am even paranoid enough to imagine that the recent "mainstream" news coverage of this threat was the result of nothing more that a handful of amateurs playing "hacker". I don't subscribe to the "UrbanHackerMyth'...NFW. The only entities with enough of a motivation to execute DDoS are those who PROFIT from it...Not teenagers, Not Lonely Joe6pacx...[although 'Users' will be picking up the tab, ultimately... after the GoldRush]. Time Equals "Money". I believe DDoS is implemented in a B to B Theater... I believe we are witnessing the most massive organized crime spree in US history...Organized Cosmic 'White Collar Crime', to use an Antiquated Term... "The bigger question is; has internet terrorism arrived? The Age of Electronic Espionage is Now. The Age of Electronic Sabotage is Now. The Age of Electronic Terrorism is Now. The Age of Artificial Intelligence is Now. Wherez your imbedded666microprocessor...? [if that's not...too personal!] LoL!
