If I was Buddy's father I would probably get rid of the evidence and give him an alibi too. I would convince myself that Suzanne gave Buddy the wrong idea about their relationship and that Buddy overreacted when he found out differently. In other words if Suzanne had not been so friendly with Buddy she would still be alive today.
