Mad2,
Your analysis is excellent. You are probably entirely correct. That is why I'm not putting any money where my mouth is yet. After practicing TA on historic charts, I'm tempted to sell a major part of my current holdings and jump into trading. I decided to Beta test first.

I'm trading on a real time paper basis before doing putting any money on the table. To offset any mental weakness on the buy and sell calls. I'm using the day's opening price for the paper trades.

I took a paper position on CPQ and WMT Thursday morning using the opening price. When the sell signal arrives, I will use the next mornings opening price for the selling price.

The twice normal CPQ volume Friday seems to confirm the start of an up trend, but that could fail. WMT does look weak. The price advanced Friday on lower then average volume. It could be beginner's luck that I made these calls the day before Friday's market rally. Many stocks gapped up on Friday's open.

If CPQ and WMT fail to start an up trend, I want to see how fast my TA signals a sell. If the TA gets me out with a small profit or small loss when the stock fails that's good. My gut tells me to sell WMT due to the move up on low volume, and that CPQ's price action appears weak. That might be cheating on the Beta test, or taking paper profits too early.

I'm also restricting the number and types of stocks I'm trading to reflect my real picky trading habits. I may have to work at breaking my bottom fishing technique.<G>

Bottom line, I'm Beta testing and having a ball at it.
