O-Ring

<<Underwriters Laboratories observed crystallized deposits or corrosion around the rubber seal,
which indicated leaking water. The sprinkler model recently was redesigned with a metal seal. >>

I just do not think that this will be as expensive a retrofit/recall, but even if it is, the supplier of the O-ring seal may be on the hook. This may depend on the cause of the failure, if the seal met specifications, and who determined those specifications.
