~~~ Thread,
Hiding within the Press Advisory of the 1GHz Athlon was this golden nugget -
"According to PC Data Hardware Report for January 2000, AMD's mobile processors are used in more than 65 percent of notebook computers sold in the retail market to consumers and small businesses."
Last we read, it was only 50%.
65% is AMAZING!
I can't wait until K6-2+ with Gemini (PowerNow!) technology comes out. AMD is allowing the average consumer the opportunity to have basically the same technology as Intel's SpeedStep - but without the much higher cost of buying a PIII notebook.
(Thanks to Valiantprince on the Yahoo thread for catching this.)
