When we fix up a company in chapter 11, we have to find an angel. The angel for SVCDQ is Robertson, Stevens. The company now has to perform, and work on earnings. The stockholders can only be saved by the management to keep some value for them if there were conversion. The unsecured creditors always wish to change the stock newly distributed to cash immediately. There has to be loyal stockholders there willing to buy.

AMES wiped out the chapter 11 stockholders, and the stock sank from $6 to $1 3/16 after they reissued. If the SI board members did not help them to change their ways, they have stores that did not have traffic. Merchandises did not have variety. Stores were not bright and clean. Helps did not care. Now, that is just history, repeated after they took over Hills and some Caldor stores.
