--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 28, 2000-- TRISIGNAL Communications, a Division of Eicon Technology Corporation (TSE: EIC - news), today introduced its VoicePlus(TM) Phantom(TM) Screen Phone Design, to enable the quick and easy design of a simple to use, all-in-one, phone and Internet device.

This new design will be immediately available for license to OEMs, allowing them to quickly build and market a complete, feature rich telephone with Internet capabilities, such as email and Web browsing. Using Windows© CE ``Cuervo' and capable of running on industry-leading embedded microprocessors, the design kit comes with all the necessary modem code and schematics to build a complete Web phone. Manufacturers that license this design can benefit from TRISIGNAL's core software code which has an installed base approaching 20 million units.

``We are seeing the rapid proliferation of Internet appliances that enable Web access from devices other than the personal computer,' said Gad Elmoznino, Director of TRISIGNAL Operations. ``Our Internet Screen Phone Design extends Web connectivity to the most ubiquitous of personal productivity devices, the telephone.'

TRISIGNAL's VoicePlus Internet Screen Phone Design has all the normal features of a telephone, as well as a handsfree, full duplex speakerphone, Caller ID, outgoing number display and an advanced digital answering machine. For Internet access, the phone has an embedded V.90 modem for one-touch connection to the Web. In addition, the phone can be set up for automated, periodic retrieval of email, and includes LEDs to notify the user of new email or voice mail messages.
