I-Link and Casio Communications Announce Commercial Availability of Indavo V6 Device Extends Effective Capacity of DSL, ISDN, Cable to Six Lines
DRAPER, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 6, 2000--I-Link, Inc. (Nasdaq: ILNK) an enhanced voice/data service provider, and Casio Communications today announced the promotional release of Indavo V6, an enhanced IP (Internet Protocol) communications hardware device. Delivering on the promise made in November 1999, to bring enhanced services offered via I-Link's nationwide IP (Internet Protocol) -- based network to small, medium and SOHO businesses, I-Link and Casio are releasing the first 10,000 units as promotional devices.
This notebook-sized telephone expansion device enables small and medium-size businesses to easily and affordably expand the capacity of their existing ISDN, DSL or cable modem by extending one phone to provide continuous real-time voice and high speed Internet access through the same system, thereby providing small, medium and SOHO businesses with a direct connection to I-Link's nationwide real-time IP network. The device provides customers with a myriad of I-Link enhanced services such as one-number call routing, caller screening, unified voice, fax, pager and e-mail messaging, voice-and-fax on demand, conference calling and seamless call transfer from cell phone to land-line (and vice versa). The device also allows access to V-Link, I-Link's enhanced IP telecommunications platform.
"Indavo V6 brings to fruition, the promise made by I-Link and Casio to offer commercial availability of enhanced services that will affect the bottom line of small, medium and SOHO businesses," said Dror Nahumi, president of I-Link. "Indavo V6 users will have a direct connect to I-Link's nationwide IP-based network, as well as enhanced services created by third parties. This device provides critical enterprise services such as conference calling, call routing and caller screening from the customer premise device."
Under the terms of the agreement, Casio Communications will manufacture the Indavo V6 device. Casio Communications and I-Link will each market the co-branded device, along with I-Link's enhanced telecommunications services, through their respective sales channels.
