OT Dear JRI: Wait a minute. I was not directly or indirectly referring to you. Actually, you did not even come to mind _after_ I made that posting. In the first place, I have been away for almost two weeks and before then, did not have as much time as I would have liked to keep up to date with the tread--I had a **lot** to do before I left. If you want to think I was talking about you fine--but you are putting words in my mouth and thoughts in my mind.
Hoping not to start a war, I was referring to someone on the QCOM thread. In my mind, I was thinking of some other people over there and on a few other threads I do not see anyone post to from the EMC thread. A few of these people have attacked others on threads with comments such as, "Well, in my 2 (or 3) years investing in the stock market," as if 2 or 3 years makes them some kind of "expert."
There was no reason for you to insult me. Had you thought I was criticizing or poking fun at you, you could have asked me for clarification in a PM--then, if you had wanted, criticized me on the thread had I indeed had you in mind when I made my posting (which I did not).
Looking for 20% appreciation reason to slam me? I do not think so. Although the past few years have seen spectacular appreciation for a number of stocks, this has _not_ been the history of the stock market since I started to invest in 1973. Rather than get a false security mind set, that these days of 600% plus gains for some stocks in a year has become a norm, I personally prefer to maintain a conservative portfolio goal.
