AMKR receives 5-star rating by: wingtipper (M/Southern California) 3/6/00 3:57 am Msg: 11720 of 11721 I've been trying to post this for two days, but Yahoo has been malfunctioning: Has everyone seen the March 1st issue of S&P's "The Outlook"? On page 4, AMKR is the first stock listed and is given 5 stars. ("Accorded highest investment ranking.") In the opinion of Outlook's analysts, AMKR is expected to be "...among the best performers over the next 12 months." Other comments: "Over the next several years, we believe AMKR is poised to benefit from both robust demand for semiconductors and a rapidly growing trend toward manufacturing outsourcing."..."In our view, this trend will enable AMKR's growth to outpace that of the overall semiconductor industry for the next several years. Despite recent strong price appreciation in the shares, we see further upside potential and recommend purchase by aggressive investors. At 29 times our $1.63 earnings estimate for 2001, the stock is trading at a sharp discount to the shares of both front-end wafer foundaries and more compatible back-end peers." No new news for AMKR longs, but excellent validation, nonetheless.
